Maxwell takes Australia to victory

Final Score: Australia 194 for 3 (Maxwell 113*, Short 40, Shankar 2-38) beat India 190 for 4 (Kohli 72*, Rahul 47, Dhoni 40) by seven wickets

Glen Maxwell was at his best when he scored one of the best centuries. Seven fours, nine sixes, and Maxwell has done it for Australia. smashing all bowlers around the park. He was innovative too as always. Australia seals the win with two balls to spare.

Maxwell showed a tremendous amount of maturity in his inning showing no mercy to the bowlers at the same time. Having Handscomb to support him from the non-striker end rotating the strike continuously.

Rohit Sharma was rested today along with Umesh Yadav and Mayank Markande. Making way for Shikhar Dhawan, Vijay Shankar, and Siddharth Kaul. Shikhar Dhawan dismissed early as he was looking out of touch.

Australia won the toss and choose to field to continue the winning form of the first game. Kl Rahul and Shikhar Dhawan started the inning where Rahul started the inning in the usual T20 format.

In form KL Rahul is always a treat to watch scoring 47 off 27 balls, dismissed by Coulter Nile when Rahul tried an uppercut which was taken by Richardson. Then India started to lose the wicket, Shikhar Dhawan, looking out of touch having difficult to connect the ball with the bat who scored 14 off 24 who was dismissed by Behrendorff with the help of Stoinis with a splendid catch.

Shikhar Dhawan was followed by Rishabh Pant, who was dismissed cheaply by trying to clear to Darcy Short but found Richardson at long-off. Dismissal of these two left Kohli and Dhoni on the pitch. Dhoni did well to stop the criticism for his 37 off 29 balls in the first T2oI.

While Dhoni finding his range Kohli soon joined in India’s late charge. Kohli converted 3 back to back sixes in 3 different directions of the ground in the 16th over of Coulter-Nile.

Dhoni then took charge in the 18th over when Finch decided to hand over the ball to Short for his 3rd. Dhoni struck three, including two sixes, to extract 19 off the over, to move to 39.

Cummins broke the 49-ball century stand in the 20th over, but conceded 15 runs off his final four deliveries to finish his spell with an economy of over 13. Dinesh Karthik struck two boundaries, and Kohli finished the innings with a six, to take India to a respectable 190. In their last six overs, India added 91 runs. Where 175 runs were added by right-handers in 15 overs whereas only 15 runs were added by left-handers in 5 overs.
